Went to FIRST SB class!

Hopefully my post of what was bad last week gets here first! Anyhow one day while waiting in order to occupy myself and get out, I went to a lss and took a sb class! I took Basic Mosiacs. WOW!! It is so awesome and I knew I would like it once I understood the concept. I then made several examples to show my niece and teach her. She likes it too, just wait until she sees how long it takes!!!!

Anyhow are any of ya here into Mosiacs? How long have you been doing it and did yoylearn from a class?

The reason I like it so much is because of my love for color blocking! Gives me another bit of material to spruce up my pages some. I am learning!!!

I love mosaics. I've done several. I wish I had them online but I don't. :( They are additctive, aren't they?

I love colorblocking too. I guess we are a couple of squares ;)

I like a nice clean look on my pages and mosaics and colorblocking allow for that. Shabby chic I am not!

I like mosaics. So far I have only done one but would definitely like to do more. Maybe i'll ask my LSS to do a class on them.

I have a template for it and just use them template to do it on my own. I have not done a class on it yet.

I've done a few mosaics but I cheat. I use the one inch square overlays. I would never have the patience to cut my pics into that many little pieces and then put them back together. I love those overlays. I've use the 3-up ones also. Peggy

Does anyone have a sample up on a site, so that we can see them? Eileen in IL

I have one in Christine's baby pics. It was done freehand though. I didn't realize there were templates(LOL)

Where would one get those?

Trish, I looked at page 14 and it is great. How did you do that? Eileen in IL

Thanks Eileen:>)

I cut out the heart first , then just measured my squares on the back of what was left. The I put it back together on a piece of black cardstock. It's not perfectly lined up, but like I said, I didn't have a template, just eyeballed it:>)

The smaller one, I just cut any which way. I just made sure her face stayed intact:>)

I have one in my wedding album about half way down called q wedding day mosaic. It is a 2 page lo, I did it free hand, my first mosaic, never took a class, just knew I wanted something like it. It was alot of work and took me about a week to choose the right parts of photos, cut them all out, piece them together and glue them down. Tons of work, but I love it. let me know what you think. esther

I enjoyed looking at your wedding album. Very nicely done. How did you do the champagne bottles with the hearts inside?

That is so awesome Esther! I love that your layout is composed of lots of different photos. It flows very nicely and is really a true mosaic. Thanks for sharing.

Tabitha, I printed the labels on velum and cut out the wine glass and champagne bottles from silver paper and vellum. I glued them together and put some confetti inside (to be the bubbles/champagne). I was actually attempting to make shaker box type things, but the confetti was too thick and the foam tape too thin. I am quite pleased with the way they turned out though. Thank you for looking. esther
