Tomorrow is my sister's birthday, and I will be presenting her with her scrapbook, my very first ever.
For anyone who missed it, the scanned pages are here:
Then, lo and behold, when I was at Target, I found a black faux snakeskin gift bag on clearance! But, it needed some red, so I bought a sparkly red tinsel garland in the Christmas section and hot glued that around the top of the bag as a trim. Ok, pretty gift bag, add some tissue paper, should be enough, right? Nope. I also bought red foil wrapping paper, and I wanted a black gift ribbon and bow, but no luck finding that. So, I looked for black ribbon at Michaels, and all I could find that was the right width and not too pricey was sheer. So, I also made my very first gift bow! Now, I'm not sure exactly how you're _supposed_ to do that, but my first thought was hot glue again, and just twisting the ribbon so it looked like a gift bow, and gluing each loop as I twisted. But, since the ribbon is sheer, I ended up with a visible glob in the middle of the bow, but here's where I think I'm a genius: I used my large flower punch and punched out a black flower, and glued that on in the middle of my bow to cover the hot glue glob. You wouldn't even notice it unless you knew it was there and nudged the bow loops around so you could see it, which is why I now think I'm completely insane.
Of course, to make sure none of this effort goes unnoticed, I will be narrating the entire process as she's unwrapping her gift. I just hope after all that she actually likes the actual scrapbook, which was supposed to be the actual whole point, actually!!!
