What technique are you working on???

Right now I'm making Christmas cards. I have, for the first time, used stamps on them. Just some sayings for the inside though, nothing fancy.

I think I'm going to try my hand at the altered trading cards. There was a story about them in the newspaper and they meet every few months at an art gallery downtown in KC to exchange them. It really peaked my interest.

I'm not really working on a particular technique. I did some distressing on cards over the weekend. There's several techniques on my "to try one day" list, though. LOL Altered clipboard for starters. LOL Colorblocking and hidden journaling are another. I'm just so behind on scrapping it's not even funny!

What I do once I've finished embossing, is turn the paper so that the ebossed side is facing me. I then take the stencil, flip it over and place it back over the embossed area so that it sits over the pattern. It makes it really easy to paint, or chalk the image withoug going over the lines.

Usually looks great too.

Sounds interesting Deb. Do you have a sample I could see?

I'll have to try it. For this one though, I want something muted. The stencil is 2 small buildings (like in Nazareth) a palm tree, a star and a quote below. I'm doing it on light sand colored card stock so I want to keep the colors soft too.

Ummm....I did. LOL I'll see if I can come up with another one. Gee, what a shame. That means I have to go do some stamping! Muwhahahahahaha!!! (Hey, after being bit on the hand by my 4 yr old today, stamping sounds very non-stressfull.)

Great idea Jacqui! I'm just finishing off my niece's first year baby mini-album and after that, I would love to learn a new technique. I purchased some MM paint a few months ago, but as of yet, have not used it and also have no idea how to use it...lol! Anyone out there who has used paint on their LO's - I would love to see some examples :)

There are two people's things that I saw that they used paint on and both were very different in their technique - Kenda and Jessie.

I never answered this, but I am not working on any specific techniques, but I am working on my DS's high school scrapbook (Woodstock Wolverines- Maroon and Navy and White) and also a pet book that is 9X9

I'm finishing up Easter pages, got about 7 more years to go. Also working on some paint cans for Christmas and the journaling jars for my siblings for Christmas. On the side I am gathering heritage papers, embellishments and ideas so I can start on my box of old photos after the first of the year. I'd really like to learn more about paper piecings and chalking. I love the watercolor look Kate does to her cards.....That would be a neat technique to learn, too. Sandy
