anyone know this book?

I just won on ebay a book called THE VOGUE SEWING BOOK Revised Metric Edition Published by Butterick. It was cheap enough, so if it's useless I haven't lost much. But does anyone have any comments on it? Thanks, Liz

The Vogue Sewing books are generally pretty good. I don't know how useful they are for beginners, since I didn't get mine until I was past being a beginning sewist. The metric edition is, afaict, the same as the non-metric edition, just with measurements and dimensions given in metric rather than imperial.

I prefer it to the Reader's Digest book for *me*. YMMV.

Mine is c:1970, so before Metric. It has lots of good references and drawings. Haven't needed it because I, too, was beyond most of it when I got it (paid $5 at a yard sale, and it looks brand new, with a cardboard case). But I always run into something I haven't done before, so wanted it for help.

Hope yours comes in good shape. SueB

I have the U.S. Version. It's a nice reference, though I don't use it quite as often as some of my other books.
