Does anyone have directions or a pattern to modify a sports jacket into an argyll type jacket?

Having looked at some sites selling argyll jackets there are lots of ideas to choose from. A sports coat would need to be shortened to desired length (some are like a short coat and others like a vest). You could cut way the front so there is no overlap. Draw the bridle line to longer or shorter. Some had a rounded shape along the front edge below the lapel. Redraw the lapel shape. I would take the sports coat pattern and a big piece of paper (an end of a newspaper roll work great from the local newspaper) trace around the pattern and then with different colored inks draw in the different ideas. At the fitting you can adjust the fit at the sideseams.
