dropping the feed dog

Feb 01, 2011 9 Replies

Hi! I have a 200c Smart Pfaff and have lost my manual, and we're in the middle of an ice/snow storm so the stores are closed. Can anyone here tell me how to drop the feed dog so I can do some free stitching?

Thanks, Jan

The feed dog drop down control is hidden by the accessory tray on the rear of the machine. So,

  1. Remove accessory tray revealing the free arm
  2. Look for the "feed dog drop control" on the rear/back side of the free arm on the bottom.
  3. Slide it one way or other to drop/raise "feed dog"

I think I would have been pretty @#$! mad before I found it. Are you kidding? Polly

It is not a drop feed machine. It came with a darning plate in the accessories. You use that to cover the feed dogs.

Hello Ron, I know you have forgotten more than i will ever know.... but on the=20 OP's request you may be thinking of some other machine ?

The OP inquired on a " Pfaff Smart 200C " ?

This 200C machine **does** have drop feed.

Maybe you are thinking of it's lesser cousin the 100S (which is not=20 drop feed and has the darning plate feed cover you mentioned)?

To be honest I have never has one in hand. I am going by the parts book that is for both models. In there they do not show any parts for a drop feed system.
