Epelet patterns?

Assistance needed!!!

I'm currently attempting to make my son's Beatle cover band the coats resembling the coats the Beatles wore on Sgt. Pepper.

The help I'm looking for would be in making the epelets. They are large and frilly, well difficult to describe. Has anyone ever made these and if so, how or what pattern did you use?

Any help is truly appreciated!!

Pam

Epauletes are relatively easy. For these ones, cut the shape out of cardboard and fidget with it until it's exactly right... Then cut out of Timex and fuse the fabric to it. Use nice gold braid and fringing from your local Indian fabric emporium or make the fringe out of bullion fringe from the curtain and upholstery section of the fabric shop. Stitch it on round the edge by hand. Sew poppers or Velcro to the under sides to keep them in place.
