Well, you do get to do kilts! I may get one to do/help with in the near future...

And there's another Victorian frock and a wedding outfit or three to come! Then all my Roccoco Frococo... Sack backed gowns and quilted petticoats waiting in the wings! Stays three-quarters finished, pocket hoops done, and chemises on the go.

Oh. Rather you than me! ;)

They look great! Isn't it nice to be paid to do such fun things.

That's true! I keep urging my SDIL to choose a tartan, I want to make at least one more. DGD is about to eliminate dancing from her very busy schedule. :-( She enters high school next fall, and what with playing three instruments, and league soccer (football) she just does not have time for dance lessons, practice and competitions anymore.

Yep, you do have wonderful customers, and interesting projects.

Indeed. Fortunately these have an embroidered scalloped bottom hems, so I can take them up at the top. Just a plain

1.5" casing on three panels, so not really hard, just not my favorite sort of sewing.

It is. I get to do all the fun bits (the research, the making, etc.) and they pay for the fabrics and the time, and then they have to house the costumes!

It'll be different with my 18th C stuff... I haven't even thought about where I might store THAT!

Sad, but understandable. James has started on his exam work, and we only just fit everything in!

The Roccoco stuff is for me - for a change! Goodness only knows how or where I'll store it between now and February, and after the event...

I've given up on sheers and nets. I live out in the country. The only things out the back are gardens next to the houses, trees, and several miles of open fields! Out the front is a small garden, a HUGE beecj hedge, the car parking space, then the road, an orchard, the motorway, and several more miles of fields. Curtains are only to keep the sun or the cold out when needed. Mine are small and plain. Curtain making is dead boring. But it does give good practice for long straight seams!

She has auditioned for and been accepted to two advanced orchestras/bands at the high school. Trouble is, she has only one elective hour, and has to decide which one she wants most. It's possible one of them will be offered at a special pre-regular-school-hours slot (6:00AM!!!), so she might just squeeze them both in. She plays saxophone, flute and bassoon. Plus soccer on weekends.... I'm not sure when we are going to get her dress finished. ;-}

I live in a small town south of the larger city, and have a nice-sized piece of property. I leave my draperies open almost all the time. She chose to live in the city, the lots are small, and the neighbors windows are close-by, so she needs the privacy afforded by sheers. I wish I could persuade her to move nearer, her work is 5 minutes from me,

20 minutes from her. The commute would be easier for her DH as well.
