Coffee House Door prizes finished (photos)

I finished off the door prizes and took photos of them all this afternoon... the only things missing in the pics are the matching pens that I put with the clipboards and notebooks - I tied them to the clipboards with ribbon so they can't get lost. All the 'base' items came from the Dollar Tree, and all the embellishments were from my stash. I tried to use up some of my 'scrap' papers rather than cutting up whole new sheets, and I'm quite pleased with how most of the items worked out.

So here they are:

The spine is photocopy paper, and the photo of Ayers Rock/Uluru came from an old desk calendar I found when I cleaned out our bookshelf. (next photo shows the back of the book) - Romantic photo frame

I realised that this frams was just the right length to hold an 8-1/2x11 sheet of paper if it was trimmed at one side... so I printed the bible quote in the center, trimmed it up, and then cut the photo mats with the oval colluzzle... if nobody chooses this for a prize I'll be putting two of our wedding photos into it :) - Little blue journal Front -

I was delighted with how this came out. I used a single sheet of beautiful 8-1/2x11 patterned paper to cover the notebook, and then decorated it with rubons and stickers and a little tag. The butterflies on the back cover are cut from a wallpaper border. Pink clipboard Front -

I've already shared this so no need to explain further - I just wanted to take photos of it in natural daylight instead of by lamplight... Green clipboard Front -

Another one I'm delighted with... I did the back first using tissue paper and paper napkins, and then I made a patchwork-style collage on the front using lots of smal cardstock strips leftover from trimming up photo mats, and patterned paper left from cutting out envelopes. The buttons on the back are vintage from a friend - they're not in very good condition but they were good enough for this! The front was finished with rubbon words and a few stickers. Altered pictureframe. This was a good idea but I'm not very pleased with how it turned out - the cardboard base frame was very low quality and it's not straight, so the paper inside slides around. I might toss it in the trash if nobody claims it because I'm just not happy with it :( Original frame (with a couple of extra panels cut out - the bottom was originally ALL squares)

Lastly, this little altered addressbook was for a swap and it's what gave me the idea of doing altered prizes for the church... it's very simple but it was fun to do and the plastic slipcover makes it look great.

Thanks Kate... I had a lot of fun making them :) It was a great excuse to play, and it really wasn't very expensive thanks to the Dollar Tree. If I had anyone to make christmas presents for, I think I'd be doing clipboards because they're REALLY easy and a big enough canvas to make me very happy.

Everything is so good! You are very talented. You're so great at taking what you have on hand and making it all come together into something wonderful. I have a hard time doing that! How you do that?? :-)
