Page Protection ?

Question

I need help please. I recently purchased several 10in x 7 in hardcover paper scrapbooks. The cover is hard (back and front) with a window in the center and the book is spiral bond so the pages do not come out. I was thinking of making an album for my sister from our trip to the butterfly museum this past summer for christmas. Got cute butterfly paper and brads and eyelets, ribbon etc. Driving home from work tonight I was thinking how I need to start this. In dawn on me, how would I protect the pages? Any help would be great. I posted pictures below of the album so you can see what I am talking about. Appreciate the help.

I have never done a scrapbook like that. I can see how it would be a challenge to protect the pages..hmm...Could you purchase some 8 1/2 x11 protectors and cut them apart (and down to the size of your pages) into single sheets, and maybe attach them at the top of the pages or on the four corners with brads or eyelets or ribbons?  That was my first thought! HTH L

What about bags from  They make about any size you could possibly want and they are acid free. You  could just cut off the flaps and slip them on the pages. This a thought. Sandy

I agree with Karen. Lots of the albums being made today as gifts don't have  sheet protectors. ( pocket books, chipboard books, baper bag albums, albums  in a tin and so forth come to mind).  I would however give it in or with a  cello bag that it can be stored in when not being either displayed or looked  at. You might also consider sealing your pages with something like  modgepodge or some similar material. Perhaps someone here can come up with a  better sealer.

I have several albums that I've done with the spiral scrapbooks and I did not worry about protecting the pages. These were done for gifts and as an album to remember a trip we took to Indianapolis, I like it without the protectors as many of the pages are "interactive". We took many pictures and I used accordian folded paper to incoropate many of the pictures, along with journaling. Just my 2 cents worth.
