Fire Uniform Buttons

Aug 12, 2007 3 Replies

Hello, first time I have posted here, been reading and learning heaps so thank you all. I am in the process of making my two boys 4 & 5, Fireman uniforms, I want to be able to sew real uniform buttons on them, any ideas on where I could purchase these from? I am in Australia but am willing to buy from anywhere.

Thanks in advance, Stuey

The departments I know around here (OR) use plain brass shank buttons on their class As, but their "real" uniforms tend to be tshirts and pants... City departments tend to use short sleeve shirts with patches.

Seems like nothing says "fireman" more than a yellow slicker with mucho reflective stripes. I believe those are fastened with toggles.

For that age group, it's more about the hat, hose, and the pumper truck. Dalmatian optional (that might be a US thing).
