Somebody mentioned these a week or so back, and now I cannot find the reference! Unfortunately I didn't bookmark it...
Please can someone find it for me!

??? I don't recall a discussion about "stretch zippers". Are you maybe thinking about the thread on "separating hidden zippers":
Errrr... maybe that was it!
Doh! The heat's getting to my brain. ;P
We've had a few days of record high temps for the time of year here, so I sympathize. I just could not imagine what a "stretch" zipper could be like...

I'll keep googlong, and if I ever find one, I'll shout.
But, but, but... if the *tape* stretches, how the heck are the
*teeth/coils* going to maintain contact?I sorta kinda think the application you're apparently trying to find a solution for might respond to closely set snaps. Or Velcro. Or hand-sewing the seam closed *on* the wearer. Or..... ?
Good luck with your search. ;->

I think this is what you are looking for:

I was kind of imagining this was possible. I'm not sure what makes a coil zipper stay together, but maybe it's something like the contact part of the coil is flattened to create a barb. The zipper head bends the coils to overlap the barbs. If you wanted the zipper to elongate at will, I wonder if longer barbs would do the trick. Granted they'd have to be very long, but with modern technology it seems like a lot of unlikely things are manufactured.
Just daydreaming.

Yes - I have THAT site bookmarked! Very useful it is, too. But it was late, and hot, and I probably miss remembered.
Be prepared for more of Kate's boiled brain ideas: today is set to be even hotter! Already it's 24 degrees in the living room. Busted loft ladder notwithstanding, I think I need the fan out of the loft...
Have faith! ;P
I need a concealed zip. Or no closeure at all... I don't think any of the others will look too good one something like this:
It'll keep me out of trouble in idle moments... Not that I have any scheduled this week! ;P
Those seperating invisibles are #5, size, which is a jacket size zip. Not terribly suitable for fancy wear, but great for sweats or fleece.
ps
I think they do them in other sizes, but as you know, I also make polar fleece and Windbloc items. :)
You are one busy woman!
