Help with a stain please

I just called the Silly Putty hotline, yes they have one of those LOL and the man said to spray with WD40 and let sit a few minutes scrape off any residue, if there is any left, and then spray it, saturate, with WD40 and blot, don't rub, with a clean, dry, white cloth or cotton balls. Hold a cloth under the stain and blot, don't rub, with the other turning the cloth and/or replacing stained cotton balls to always have a clean side to the fabric. Then wash as usual. He was quite nice and sounded as if he could recite these directs in his sleep. I don't think you are the only one to have this problem. LOL LOL
