I just spent three hours laying out the pattern for the new paisley, trying to match the center fronts and making sure I also have enough fabric to cut the rest of the jacket. I can...just!
I'm going to let it rest overnight and double check tomorrow before cutting. I *might* have just cut it without matching the pattern if Sharon hadn't exposed my O/C to the whole group. ;-}
Beverly, glad the fabric is wide and they cut generously...
My news server is having issues so I'm posting through Google.
*sigh* S.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are just now realizing this?????? All you had to do was ask my kids. They would tell you I'm horribly mean. (least wise they would if I've recently been on a "clean out that pig sty of a room" rant.) LOL!!
I'm glad you had enough fabric to match it. You know it would have made you crazy otherwise, and you would have left it hanging in the back of the closet, rarely worn.
I really did it for your own good. You might not realize that now, but in a few years.......
;)
Sharon Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the pig.
Too late. ;) You've seen pictures. You know she Looks like me. ;) Personality matches too a lot of the time. And that doesn't cause us to butt heads or anything at all.... LOL
singerlady.reno.nv.us.earth.milky-way.comhttp://members.tripod.com/~bernardschopen/Not a chance of me saying that!! She's the one with the pinkingshears. I never use the word "hurt" around an armed woman. LOL
Not only did I match the center fronts, but my finger slipped when I ordered, I had three yards to play with, so I placed the same part of the print on the center back, and I was able to keep the same horizontal design going all the way around including on the sleeves (which also have the CF-CB design centered on them). No one will ever notice but me. ;-)
Today I did the final pattern lay-out, cut everything out, sewed and pressed the darts and shoulder seams and fused interfacing to the facings. Tomorrow I have an appointment to have my car serviced, so I won't be sewing until mid-afternoon.
I meant by my "...I hope you have..." to add to the litany of things we all say to our children. If ever you get the chance, watch Bill Cosby's 1982 concert "Bill Cosby: Himself". He has some pretty funny takes on parenthood and natural childbirth.
My older DD and I look enough alike that 15 years ago when we were out together, folks took us for sisters. I thought it was funny and charming. DD....not so much. ;->
But surely you are the most important person in this instance. After all, you are the one who will have to (literally) stand behind your work all the time.
