ITS HERE ! ITS HERE! (new machine!)

My new (used) HV Platinum 750 is here. The woman I bought it from sent me all the books, a carrying case, a walking foot and several other feet and a beautiful tote bag she made before she stopped sewing!

ITS AWESOME. Now I have to go figure out how to thread it.

Congratulations! It's always a good sign when you have the manuals and accessories, I take that as a sign of a well maintained machine. I would give it a thorough cleaning and lubricating before sewing very much, however.

It says no lubrication needed, but I'll be sure its clean!!

These don't get lubricated! They are lubricated away inside if they need it at the annual service, being electronic gizmos rather than all mechanical.

But a swift clean out of the bobbin area wouldn't go amiss.

Poor lady... Why did she stop sewing? These machines have only been out a couple of years, and the 750 is a top end machine. Beth, you did very well to find a used one at all, and it sounds like it wasn't used much and was well cared for!

Happy sewing!

Kate, the woman I bought it from explained that she simply doesn't have the time with a 90 year old mother and two puppies. She felt the machine would be happier at someone elses house. She is a VERY nice lady and I like her very much and feel like I've made a net-friend during the transaction.

I got a very good deal too - off of ebay - I think people were very suspicious that the deal wasnt' real so no one else bid - I messaged her a few times and realized she was either real or the best scam artist ever, so I "bought it now" for 200$ less than the blue book price.

After reading the manuals last night I am RARING to try it out tonite!

It sounds wonderful, Beth. Have a good play and do keep up updated on what you make with it. I've had my HV Lily since 1999, and I still love it to bits!
