he has a meetup group organized. And has months get togethers in the boston area. I haven't had a chance to join him yet.
Tom wrote here once about the difference between a blazer and sports coat. It was almost word for word of what I was told as a small child. Like to hear it again.
And a suit coat is not much difference, either, compared a ski coat.
do explain your thinking on this
Sports coat, blazer and suit coats are all about the same. They have lapels and certian types of pockets, such as breast pocket on one side (not that there can't be a breast pocket on each side, because sometimes there are).

small change- What is the best for wind shirts? The wind shirts were much better cloth than the wind jackets back in the 70's. Now a days there must be better stuff.
For those of you who are looking at Imprimis
There are tons of choices. You want a dense weave to block the wind, and you most likely want DWR treatment ( durable water repellency), Any thing that is a coated nylon will turn into a sauna suit if you are being very active and getting sweaty. My usual recommedation if you aren't familiar with all the new choices is to order a couple of catalogs and sample sets from some of the various mail order suppliers, and to take a look at their suggestions. Or, you can work backwards: find one you like and see what it's made of, then source that fabric if you can.
My personal choices for wind shirts these days would be EPIC fabric by Nextec; Supplex nylon for something like a running or golf jacket; or three layer goretex if I wanted it waterproof.
Thanks. I'll look up that EPIC fabric by Nextec.
