ROTFLOL!!! I read that subject line as "ping the person who is Kay's "foe"", and wondered, who is ticked off at Kay enough to be known as her 'foe', and why?

I guess it was a bit*understatement* unclear. See where abbreviation's can get you.

Wasn't it Judith, who also lives in NY, that posted the article on fold-over elastic? I think Nanzy Zieman has an article about using it on her web site: sewingwithnancy.com

I think it was me, Judie in Penfield NY.

I've gotten FOE from a few different sources, mostly from diaper making co-ops. But I soon discovered the many other uses for this wonderful elastic. I've ordered from FOE Your Diaper in Canada, she has wonderful customer service and great shipping. She's here:

are lots of other sources, most of them are the shiny FOE as opposed to the plush matte FOE. I like the 1 inch (or even the 2 inch) plush better for the waistbands for the kids pjs. I've also used the 5/8 for crib sheets and replacing elastic for my DGD's twin sheets. If you do a google search you will find other sources, there is a wide variety and for many uses I haven't even tried yet. So much fun!

Thanks Judie, That would be good for skirt waists but I also need shiny narrow for tops. I found 1 source on Ebay.http://spedr.com/29bkv I guessI'll have to bite the bullet and sign up for Ebay. I usually have my sonorder what I want if it's a small item but I don't think he would reallywant to be that involved in my sewing projects and order things when thewhim hits me. I just always figured that if I'm not a member I have tothink twice before ordering.Juno

Juno,

There's just about nothing I want badly enough to buy on ebay these days, although at one time I sold quite a lot there (more than one sewing machine!).

Here are some other sources although I haven't used them. CTUSA.COM carries FOE but only in black or white.

are others I thought I had bookmarked but of course I can't find them now. FOE is usually sold at the places that carry special elastic for lingerie.

Be sure to report back and let us know how it all works for you, I'm still very happy using the FOE these days.

Thanks again Judie, I'd rather a non-Ebay store. I really don't want to get into it. I know a lot of people use it all the time, including my kids, i'm just not anxious to do it. I've booked marked those sites. Juno Juno
