seamstress and other rates guide

Nov 25, 2005 2 Replies

Several months ago, someone posted that a guide to prices to charge per piece or by the hour for various garments, etc. was availabe from some place in California. Unfortunately I zipped by it and did not "grab" the information. Does anybody remember that particular post or have the information given there. I surely would like to have it.

Thanks. Hope those in America have had a nice Thanksgiving.

The one I liked best was to take the price of an average (not el-cheapo, not upscale) haircut and double that price to come up with an hourly rate. Then when you know about how long it should take you to do various things, you could charge a flat fee, but I think hourly would be the most fair if you know what you are doing and aren't going to be learning at the customer's expense.

Thanks. That's a good idea, even if I didn't get the publication or leaflet I was looking for. B-)
