serger on auction - how much to bid?

my local auction house has a babylock serger coming up for bid. I mostly do tiny applique projects, but I could see where a serger could come in handy for making costumes for my little one, etc. So I thought I'd bid, but I have no idea what to big on it? I checked the babylock website and its obviously an older model.

How much would you bid? (and sadly, its been lotted with two stupid all in one ancient printer/scanners).

Thanks in advance for advice.

Sorry but it's impossible to see the serger clearly in those photos, as it's in a bag. I'd want to know the model number/name, condition (does it work?), what it comes with etc. to provide an idea as to what I'd bid.

Hm, maybe I need to run over and test it out (they know me at the auction house).

Thanks

Oh, absolutely! If they will let you check it out before they auction it, that would let you know if it's worth bidding on it. You might also see if they'll split up the lot, so that you wouldn't have to include the old computer equipment.

It looks like a Baby Lock Protege to me. Ebay auction 170137495252 has detailed photos. Value depends on how it works I guess.
