Sewing classes

Ok, I finally decided I would like to take a sewing class to upgrade my skills. Joannes has a beginners to advanced classes and I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about it. Since Joannes is an authorized dealer in HV machines and I have two already this might be the thing i was looking for.

Cheers

One, the authorised HV dealer in your JoAnns is not actually part of JoAnns. Many JoAnns stores have authorised dealers (not just HV, but Brother, Pfaff, etc) subletting space in the store. Many times, these dealers have other retail sites (f'rex, the local HV dealer has space in the two ETCs closest to their store, and the Pfaff dealer has space in the ETC in the other direction).

Two, each of these dealers is independent, and a review of a class in CA will have no bearing on a class in MN.

The worth of the class will depend entirely upon the intructor and how well what s/he is teaching fits with what you want to know.

That's the way it is at the JoAnn's nearest me. The sewing/vac store is right next door, but they have nice space inside JoAnn's with all the sewing machines set up to tempt shoppers, including me. They have some nice used machines on the floor, too.

Yes. The teacher might be a veteran costumer for the local theaters, with various awards, or just some person who's willing to read ahead in a book. One might encounter the latter when the first has become weary of vs mgmt policies (not me but someone known to me.)

One would think the store would have made provision for specific inquiries, or that the teacher would furnish an e-mail address. You might ask.

Thank you all for mentioning all the suggestions. :) As JoAnnes is only about 2 miles from my home I may just run by there and ask all those relevent questions that I would have never thought to ask.
