SewWiki

This is not an advertisement site, I am creating a wiki for sewing/needlecraft and would like others to critique or even help build it ( spirit of the wiki and all ). I use wikipedia often and thought that perhaps a dedicated sewing wiki would be useful.

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated the link is

I sort of assumed that when one was at work, one worked, especially at a Bank... guess I was wrong. One posts spam to NGs when at work at a bank!

A wiki is not a spam. It's like an online collaborative project, and it's a perfectly appropriate thing to announce on a newsgroup.

What did you have in mind? More of a "how-to" or "where and how" do you get inspired? Both? Sounds like a good project if you ask me.

You know, I sometimes wonder that if we were all sitting across from each other at a "meet-up" (as they say over in RCTQ), and someone said to the rest of the group, "Hey I ran across this really cool sewing forum.." or "Wow, I order from this website and they always give a little extra fabric..." or "I just wanted to share a really great sewing information source I found on the Wiki site...", how many people would jump up and say, "That's off topic, shut up!" or "We're going to ban you from the group for saying something off-topic..." or "I'm going to post your place of employment on the internet because you said something I think is off-topic".

Real spammers notwithstanding, maybe we should pretend that we *are* sitting across from each other before new visitors start labeling this newsgroup a bunch of cranky, anal retentive, old school marms.

Hello. HUGE MISTAKE!! It was NOT meant to be sent!! It wasn't even meant for YOUR post! OMG I feel like such a dork now but it was an honest mistake! I was showing a friend who was new to the world of newsgroups and is blogging about it and was answering her question on what it meant to OT a post and what it meant to track a spam poster and so on... all the stuff that she wondered about I showed her what I knew and what it meant and what a typical response would be and OMG I NEVER MEANT TO HIT SEND!!!. I should know better not to just choose a post and use it as an example. I apologize!!!!!

I don't think your wiki is spam I simply used the first post that came up on my list, and it happened to be yours. I am so sorry for this blunder (face is red and full of egg now ).If you all want me to leave, then I will. No problem and I understand.

~KK in BC~ makes not to self to NEVER use a post for an example again!! but on the other hand, I can now show her an example of eating ones own foot!

Funny, evertime I read the A-R cranky pants knee jerk reactions I hear the voice of Gladys Cravits on the old Bewitched TV show.........."AAAAAAAAAAABNER, c'mere ABNER, look what they are doing now!!"

Eat more chocolate.

I hope I don't frighten you.......but I don't like chocolat. I kan make bonbons, cakes an cookies with loads of sugar and real fat...but I don't like sweet stuff, I lack an X chromosome I think....:)

So I'm gonna do something else to feed my raging hormones and gonna shop for some textile:)

S.E.X.* is right up there with chocolate, definitely a viable alternative for those who don't like chocolate

I'm afraid it will be another frustrating event because I'm looking for some black thick satin, the thin ones you can find everywere, but the thick ones are hard to find.........

:) I don't buy fabric online, I went to the market and bought 3 yards of thick cottonsatin.....the only piece at the stall......

Holland is very modern in textiles, you can get any kind of modern materials but the old good ones you have to search and search....
