My daughter recently received a sewing machine, a Singer Model 347, from a family friend. She's going to use it mostly for quilting. It didn't come with the instruction manual but with my daughters experience and some experimentation (with tensions etc.) it seems to work very well for her purposes. POINT OF THIS POST: Is any one familiar with this model machine? Is there a way to reverse the machine to lock the stitching? Any other tips? Any help you can give will be truly appreciated! All thanks in advance

Push the stitch length lever up to reverse. Manuals or at least photo copies are available.
These are from around the 60s, I think, so check the wiring over well before use.
If it has not been used in a while, it probably needs some basic maintenance:
