This question has probably been answered before so please forgive me for asking again.
I find that, after a year of not wearing these slacks, the pants legs seem too wide. Should I take them in on the outside seam? Somehow I feel this is the way to go. Am I wrong?

I would divide how much you need to take the leg in by half and then take in on each side of the leg so that the grain lines stay correct. Karen O
