Yeah, not exactly fuzzy, but they are for sick children, so plain cotton in fun prints:

Sweet! Yes, they really need faces. Is the face on the one on the picture hand embroidered or photoshopped? ;-)

It's photo-shopped, as it will appear when the volunteer coordinator draws it on with a black Sharpie (yuck). I really hope she will eventually agree to let me machine embroider details, but she resisted that suggestion, as that is "[her] contribution". She also does not want me to stuff and close them.

I am new to this and don't want to step on toes, so.... :-}

Very cute, and just about right for a child to hold onto and snuggle without interfering with tubes and medical stuff. Would she be OK with flannel? It's a bit softer, and can still be washed and sterilized like the cotton.

They are provided to pediatric in-patients as well as for kids when blood has to be drawn in the lab. Karen is very anxious for a supply, she says it really helps with the little ones when they get poked and prodded.

Flannel was my first thought as well. She did not want flannel, she says they have had poor luck with bears made with it (probably very cheap flannel, but I'm not about to argue ...yet).

These are never re-used, they become a snuggie the children take home with them. I hope the ones I make will stand up to home washing, but they do not have to undergo hospital sterilization.
