Travel machine, update?

Question

Here's the list I"ve come up with, with your help, so far. Any comments?

I have the Janome Gem.  I really like it a lot.  There are about 12stitch choices on it.  The only downside is that you cannot adjuststitch width or length on it.  There are 3 straight stitches, one verysmall stitches, regular, and then basting.  There is blind hem stitch,zig zag and overcast and some stretch stitches and of course abuttonhole foot and the setting for that.  You can also get thevarious quilting feet for it.    I use mine mainly for sewing classesand for when I am traveling to retreats.  My friend bought  2 vikingsewing machines in the same price range for her sons.   I think theywere called Huskystar.  She said that the stitches were moreadjustable than on the Gem, but I am not sure of the weight of thatmachine.Karen

ummm....  It's actually spelled "Jem" as in their part number:  JEM-660.Sews like a gem though.Mack

There is also a new White 1740 Quilter's machine.  It is small and light, and the case turns into quite a large bed for the fabric.  Everything goes in the carrying case when it is closed up.Roger.M. MacD
