How big is your archive?

While I was reorganizing my archive of cards that I have stamped but not sent, my husband "humorously" referred to it as the world's largest collection of UNSENT cards. I told him I'll bet there are plenty of stampers with more unsent cards than I have.

So -- I have about 30 cards in my archive. How many do you have? (Let's not count the Christmas card batch we're all working on for this year.)

Ha ha ha.... great question. Why is this such an issue with the husbands? Mine has a problem with it also. I went in my craftroom to count and I have to say I have you beat. I stopped counting at 125 and that's only the first container. There's another one equal to it. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing...

I love this question. I haven't been writing much in this group, mostly lurking for a long time, but this question made me want to respond. I don't have any. I make all my cards for specific occasions and then send them. I do, however, have scanned images or color photocopies of all the cards I've made.

I'm with you, Sally - except that I wish I was better at scanning them "for the record."

As I've noted before, I'm not so much of a card-maker any more, except for one-offs for special occasions (the stamps are awfully handy when you realize you need a card *now* and don't have time to go buy one!) Most of my stamping involves other kinds of projects now, many of them

3-D/multimedia type stuff.

Oh, way too many! And the problem is, whenever I need a card, I go through the stash and none of them are deemed good enough to send! So I make a bunch more, and next time I go through, they arent good enough either!

I really agree with you there! Stamping is a HUGE creative outlet for me!

Well, I simply cannot deal with clutter, so I keep very few around... maybe

10 or so, max... and they change out pretty often. When I make cards just for the heck of it, I keep them in a stationery box. As I need a card to jot a note to someone or for a RAK, I generally grab one of those. If the pile gets too big, or if I find I'm repeatedly skipping over one, I send them as really random RAKs or send them to a woman in Washington who uses handmade cards with her juvenile detention students as rewards for achieving reading goals.

I have been reading posts for a few weeks to learn all that I can about stamping. I've been using stamps for cards for about 6 months sporadically! My daughter-in-law got me started. One thing I have picked up from friends is to always make at least three of the same card - one to send, one to have on hand to send, and one as a sample. I have been doing that and find it works for me. I don't have many on hand to actually use - maybe 15 or so. I keep learning new techniques, and then don't want to send the older ones out!! I like the idea of having someplace like the Juvenile Detention students to send them. Do you have an address for that? I bet she'd get plenty! Thanks for all the good tips I get from you. Deanna

I've got only 50! I started making doubles a long time ago. They come in handy when I need a last minute card or the sista of mine calls and asks if I have a card for whatever occasion!
