There is a current eBay auction for a knee control, and the item description indicates that the control will work in any cabinet. This might be just the ticket for your wife's machine. Very reasonably priced, too.

If so it might take the same one as an older Elna Supermatic. (google images to see photos of those) Supermatics show up often on Ebay. Have you called local dealers? They might be able to help.
