1/2 OT: Woodturning Logo

Many of you are familiar with the "Woodturners Logo" and many of you have shirts, hats and mugs. Thank you!

For the newer members of this group (and the ones who have not been to my website) I designed an international woodturner's logo, along with the suggestions of ng members. We did this, originally, so we could recognize one another at shows. It worked! There are a lot of pictures on my site of turners you will recognize for example; Ray S., Kevin M., Jim M., Molly, JJ, Art L., Peter K. and more.

The logo is a hand drawing of a tree with the trunk turned to a vase with the Latin phrase "Carpe Lignum, Torne Lignum" (thanks to Lyn Mangiamelli) which translates to "Seize the Wood, Turn the Wood".

Right now Packard Woodworks and Craft Supplies UK are offering the tan shirts with the full-color logo in the center front.

*this info is Not the purpose of this post.... PLEASE see note at end.

The original design was a small left-chest, color logo which I still have along with forest green shirts with a tan outline logo, matching mugs (big mugs) and hats with the phrase embroidered on the crown. I'm offering these items at bottom price because once my stock is depleted, they will not be offered anymore........unless the "demand" is just so darned overwhelming! : )

IF you are at all interested, check my "CLTL" merchandise page; right after you look at all the "Customer" pictures to see if your buddy is there!

*Very Important Note: the prices for member from this ng will be slightly LOWER than what is on my site so email for your price and exact shipping to your zip.

Thank you for your patience and tolerance of this blantant ad and plea to help clear out my dining room for the holidays! : )

Some time ago I wrote a complete botanical description of the species. Ruth successfuly incorporated this great tree into a meaningful and tasteful logo that we all wear with pride. Arch

Nick: Dressing up in a woman's shirts is a point of pride? There's a name for that kind of behavior! *G*

No special significance. When trying to come up with a screen name I wanted one that had something todo with turning or wood. All the others that I came up with before Woodpecker were already in use. By some stretch of the imagination it sort of describes my style of woodworking.

**************************** Ray, I only have the colors and styles that are on my website. As to price, the shirts depend on size; for instance a L short-sleeve with the color logo on the left chest (smaller design) is $11 and a 2XL is $12. Hats are $10 and the mugs $5 ea.

I'd like to quote prices through email rather than use up ng space.

Thanks, Ruth

*************************** Actually Nick Todd has more "CLTL" shirts than anyone, anywhere. He is the only one who sent a picture of himself wearing the forest green shirt for my "Customer" page.

BTW, I'm expecting pictures of everyone who buys a shirt to put on my website; along with links to any of their websites.

Thanks, Ruth

**************************** I owe it all to you, Arch, and your botanical description. You're wonderful! Now where's your picture wearing your "CLTL" shirt for my Customer page, huh?

Leif, Dressing up in a woman's shirts is acceptable behavior here in California. It's a requirement for public office(unless you are a movie star).
