One possible problem...
Anchor seal can be bought either with or without antifreeze. I don't know which product is used by Woodcraft and other retailers. The mfgr's web site
You should be able to get an msds sheet from them.
Bill
I can not think of why there would be a problem. First of all Amchorseal is a product with low toxicity, secondly, it all gets turned away when finish turning the bowl or else you will have finish problems.
Bill I have gotten the msds sheet from them, in fact they send it with every order of Anchorseal. The antifreeze is standard methanol and once it evaporates the toxicity is too low to matter. On the other hand, I would not drink the stuff anyway.
That's exactly what Mike Mahoney does. He rough turns, Anchorseals, then finish turns the dry salad bowls. Salad bowls are his bread and butter item, so I would think he would have heard about it by now if there were any health problems.

Since most/all of the surface of a rough turned bowl is removed in the final turning process there is little chance of any wax remaining. Perhaps someone who has received an MSDS sheet with their latest order can comment on the labeled toxicity.
