Anchorseal

I'd like to try Anchorseal, but after shipping and taxes (to Israel) it will cost me over $60 a gallon and take 4-6 weeks to get here. Is there a less expensive solution? Home made, perhaps? Thanks Joe

Hello Joe,

You could try to find "MOBILCER-M". This is a specific water based wax emulsion made by MOBIL-OIL Company and specific for the wood trade. This tip has been told to me by Jorn :

is what he calls an "undescribable milky liquid" !It is much cheaper than Anchoseal but you have to buy a huge can !Anyway, you can share it with your friends :-) Hope this help :-)

Use old latex paint - you cant toss it in the trash so why not use it to seal the ends of the logs - apply liberally and repeat a few times - it should cut down on moisture escapage - that is all you are trying to do anyway - slow the rate of moisture escaping from the endgrain and hopefully having the wood dry more evenly.
