Time management issues!

Susan, unless you're going to be stranded on an island off the coast of Florida - well, not even that - my sister lives on one of those - it is really possible, easy even, to ship packages from Florida. Anything you can pound into one of those priority boxes goes at a decent rate and UPS and FedEx are just about everywhere. Why are you thinking that must be done before you leave? Polly

I seemed to get far more done when I was working full time than now ... and I'm home all day. I think before -- I knew I had this one little window to accomplish a task -- so I took advantage of it. Now -- I have tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day... and it is SO EASY to procrastinate.

What's the old adage -- if you want something done -- give it to a busy person!

Very interesting observation, Kate. I'll have to bear that in mind. I, too, am home all day. Perhaps, knowing I'll have time to do something later allows me to procrastinate.

I'm not going anywhere and I don't have a boat load of commitments promised and I still can't manage my time. How do you convince a doctor that you, as an adult, have ADD?

Thanks. I am trying to make sets of two to four at a time. I'm using scraps of "Peltex" that was leftover from a couple of fabric boxes I made last year, so trying to be frugal and use them up!

Shipping between Canada and US can be expensive, and even when sending gifts, you have to be careful because of duty and tax charges. Canada Post can be expensive as well - it cost $1.03 to mail a letter to the US. Last year we sent 25 candies to our Godson for his advent calendar and it cost over $8 for the tiny package - more than the cost of the treats! When we lived in Florida full-time, I finally just sent gift cards or cheques as gifts, as the shipping costs were more than the value of the gifts sent! Since I try to make a little something for everyone on my list, I like to get it done before we head south. We get to visit with all our family members, and deliver parcels EXTRA early at the same time! When I am home, I only mail-order from CDN locations, except for Connecting Threads, which ships from Windsor ON, and take care of any duty/tax owing.
