Barracuda 2

Does anyone have any experience with PSI's Barracuda2 chuck? The price is attractive and the kit includes 4 sets of jaws. I'm looking to replace my Oneway basic chuck. My hands are too sore to squeeze the 2 little steel locking rods so I thought a T-handle would be better.

Comments please.

Comments please. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have two One-way chucks--one uses the Tommy bars, and the other uses a chuck key. I doubt that you will have an easier time turning the key vs. squeezing the bars. I suggest you cut a couple of pieces of round steel rod long enough to give you more leverage, and see whether that helps. Or try slipping a couple of pieces of small pipe over the Tommy bars to give you some extra leverage (just as a test.)

Hi Mike, Possibly you just want to buy the PSI chuck? :) I don't know about your sore hands, but If you can handle turning tools you should be able to use your chuck. You mentioned _"little_ locking rods" being the problem. Maybe you could turn larger comfortable padded handles for your lock rods. I made mine out of 1" aluminum bar. Alternately, could you use padded pin wrenchs?

Of the two, your Oneway might be the superior device for actual chucking. Be careful not to go further and fare worse, but if you just want the Barracuda, buy it.

Hi Mike

Why not buy the Oneway Talon body only package, that way you can use all the jaws woodworm etc. that you have already and you know you get a first class chuck.

Have fun and take care Leo Van Der Loo

Good Luck! It has been on back order since sometime last summer. Every time they reach an availability date they move it out another month or two. When I called them they offered to put me on a waiting list. Seems like they are waiting to get a certain number of folks on the waiting list befor they place and order. Nic
