Beeswax availability

As an one-time (several times, actually) beekeeper, I used to have dealings with Walter T. Kelley here in Kentucky, one of the old-time bee suppliers. I like them a lot, and you'll find them easy to deal with. They have a catalog, a web site, and friendly people at the phones. There are others to be found if you search for 'beekeeping supplies'

beekeeper needs to buy foundation comb (unless they're able to mold itfrom their own wax), so that means suppliers need to buy beeswax frombeekeepers. And THAT means (commerce being what it is) that they'll alsosell it at a reasonable markup for their trouble. I forget the smallestquantity, whether it's 2# or 5#, that Kelley will send you, but whatever theamount, it's not expensive. David

another thought, is call the biggest library you got in the county... Ask the help desk if they know of a local bee keepers club, and who the contact person is...

Or you could call the Cooperative Extension office in your community, who should also have that information.
