X-No-Archive:yes Mirjam -

Each morning I write in a journal which someday may become a personal history for my children. I have had over twenty letters published in the New York Times and others in the Washington Post, Hartford Courant etc. Recently I contributed to an article about the cable television monopolies in New England at the request of the New Haven Register's media editor. I do some blogging re: baseball with the beat writers who cover the Mets and the Yankees. I write poems for my children and family on special occaisions instead of sending them cards and/or gifts. I agree with Stephen King whose motto is 'read a lot, write a lot' and do a lot of wide ranging reading of books, newspapers and other material to 'keep up and keep current'. I watch CSPAN to follow the US House and Senate, the press briefings etc. and watched every minute of the recent Supreme Court nomination hearings of both Chief Justice Roberts, and Justice Alito. (my college degree is in Political Science). I also love sports and watch as much as I can - in retirement I have watched and/or listened to every Yankee and Mets baseball game.
