Chrissake, it's not "treenware", it's simply "treen". Treen means cookware or tableware, you _don't need to add the "ware"_ Look the bloody thing up.

No wonder he calls himself a cowboy (UK slang for a slipshod tradesman).

If you're going to try to peddle your wares on a ng full of talented people who actually make the bloody stuff themselves, then at least try to get your terminology right.

Spamming prat.

Have a nice day y'all.

Aye, Harry. It's unlike me to sound off. I guess it was the combination of tautological solecism, spam and sheer lack of common sense in a single one-liner that banged my bell......er....oh, yeah, right, the six or eight Friday-night beers may have contributed a bit as well...

In any case, as a fellow woodworker, I wish Nancy Lou all the best with her business. But tell your shill to take it somewhere else, please.

Back to lurking :)

Here in the US, we rarely use the term "treen", so it is easy for one of us Yanks to make a minor mistake - plus a Cowboy in Texas is a term of endearment - Easy mistake for a Limey to make I guess.

Now you'e done it, Ray. Frank might not admit to being a Limey, even interrogated while under the influence of a few pints of Guiness. 'Limey' and 'Cowboy' like 'Cracker' and 'Redneck' depend...; we refer to ourselves proudly with many "terms of endearment", but others damn well better not. I know a man who owns a multi-million dollar office cleaning business. He sez that he is a janitor but others don't dare.

Hey Frank, most every rcw post is a tautology whether or not it's a solecism. (I looked it up) ;) Slainte, Arch

Absolutely NOT, Arch, if I understand your primitive colonial banter correctly. According to your Mr Noah Webster, a Limey may be either a British sailor, or an Englishman (I looked it up as well ;)) - I, however, am neither. Not that I'd place too much trust in a lexicographer who persisted in spelling perfectly good words such as through, centre and colour as "thru", "center" and "color", mind you. Come to think of it, could it have been the semi-literate Webster who was originally responsible for perpetrating "treenware" on a young and trusting nation? Didn't think of that....

I was born and bred a Scotsman, but am exiled down here in deepest Rutland*, pining for the mountains and glens of my native land (and a decent Jock pie and pint of heavy). Judging by your parting Gaelic salutation, you seem to have guessed that!

Nah - don't believe that, erudite and succinct chaps that you are :)

Slainte mhor,

Frank

NB - that's Rutland, England, not Massachusetts or Vermont! (I wish...)

The nearest you will get to back home is a trip to Corby, only a few miles, it is a mini Scotland, (and a very nice place too).

Aye, Bob.

Occasionally get down there to stock up with Jock soul food. It almost seems strange when everyone understands me and I don't have to repeat myself haufadizzen times, ken?

Cheers
