Craft Fair ideas

Greetings all! I'm gearing up for a craft fair. This will be my first time as a vendor, although I've been to this particular one as a spectator for several years. I'm going to be dedicating most of my free time from now until then to finishing off as much as I can, so I'll be plenty busy. From what I've read in previous posts, small, inexpensive items are the way to go. My question is this - what item(s) seem to consistantly sell (at least decently)? So far, I've got pens (the slimline variety), 3-4" bowls (some even smaller than that), bottle corks, napkin rings, small goblets, 5" plates, t-light holders, flower vases, and lidded boxes. I've seen on Mr. Feltmate's site about mushrooms, but have only made a handfull so far. If you do have an idea, could you also point me to a website/reference on how to make it? A preference are items that take little time to complete. I'm not interested in spending several hours on one item to sell it cheap. Also, I'd prefer not to have to purchase extra hardware for it's functionality, like a pen does, as this would just be extra up-front cost for me. Some other things that might be relevant - I'm an amateur (4 years part-time experience), the fair is being held in a very small town in Idaho (with several surrounding communities being involved), I'm not worried about making any money since I'm going to be there anyway to visit my Mom & Dad, and most of the wood used was actually harvested from that region. Hi all,

I am not a HTML expert either, but I do program in HTLM. I never heard of a command in HTML. I am not saying that there is not one out there now, but I just rechecked my 3.2 HTML refference manual, and at least in HTML 3.2, there is NO such command as . I also tried to use it in a page coded in HTML, and it was totally ignored as a command by my browesers.

Perhaps someone would know if there is one in a later version of HTML, which uses that command??? I believe that there is a version 4.0 HTML, but when I looked at it some while back it was not all that much different.

So that should settle the possible meaning of , as being Not HTML code.

So perhaps the one who first used it here might come back and say just what is meant by their use of ??? Perhaps they did intend it to mean "Political Correct"??

For myself, I too will only make CHRISTMAS ornaments, for the Christmas season, to hang on the Christmas tree or in a window.

I neither meant to offend nor defend any PI (politically irrational) person by using "holiday" for my beribboned lighthouses. RCW is not a correct forum for this.

I merely wanted people of any correctness belief or none at all to buy the ornaments so I used "holiday" instead of a specific "Holy Day" of one of the _five great religions.

I also typed on an electric keyboard yesterday (Saturday). This might have been forbidden for one of us, but he had the grace not to make an issue of it on a woodturning forum. Now back to the fair.

PC is pretty neat. Reminds me of my wife's first brush with what we in service had as "race relations" - sensitivity training. "This woman was up there screaming 'YOU MUST BE MORE TOLERANT.'" Bunch of folks who thing they have a monopoly on right, when it's merely righteousness....

I have made a Menorah, though, and dreidels are a good turning project for the solstice.

Let me just say that this thread has left me rolling on the floor laughing. Who would have thought just one little comment could have sparked such replies from both sides of the fence. This is definately news group entertainment at it's best.

Oh, by the way, I did manage to update my site with a new CHRISTMAS TREE ornament last Friday for anyone who's interested. And like I said before, it's not turning related, but at least it's woodworking.

WOW I haven't seen a topic take a turn like this for some time. I thought I was asking about craft fair ideas. I did get plenty, but now I've got two handfulls of people's opinions about politics AND religion. Aren't those the two thing one is not suppose to talk about at the dinner table?

Anywhoo - thanks everyone who contributed to my idea basket of craft fair ideas. I've still got a bit of time to try some new things, so if anything else comes out, please let me know.
