I recently turned a myrtle bowl and put 2 coats of Deft on it. It has a real nice shine and really enhanced the grain of the wood. Are there other finishes that I should have used?
TIA

Alot of people don't like the strong odor of laquer fumes, I use both, but prefer shellac which is an alcohol base for a brushed on finish. Also a main ingrediant for making friction finish which is great in smaller stuff.

I used to use it a lot, but found a better way.......try Walnut Oil from a health food store, followed by buffing....I did 7 years ago, and haven't used Deft 6 times since! (The ONLY exception is a few woods like Poplar which simply don't develop much 'glow' without a finish like Deft.
