My isp gave up usenet a few months ago. I am now just doing a test through Google.

the problem with google is that you must use a real email address, and that let's the spiders harvest it and you end up deluged in spam.
for a few dollars you can buy usnet access - I use Teranews but there are others as well, price and quality of service vary
