Looking for Anodized Colored Aluminum Face Plates

The other day I was shopping around, came across a site that sold 3",

4", and other anodized aluminum faceplates. I thought the price was reasonable, and they had different colored faceplates depending on the spindle size. Now I can't find the site, and apparently I"ve lost it.

Does anyone know what site this was? It was pretty distinctive as far as products goes, and I'll know it when (if) I see it again. Thanks!!

On most browsers, unless you've disabled it, you can "ctrl-H" and get a history list of web sites you've visited over the last few days. Maybe it's still there.

There are two folks who are doing this to my knowledge. One is Don Pencil and his True Turn faceplates. You can obtain them either direct via his website, from Lee Valley, or from Craft Supplies. I have a number of these and have found them excellent for their size range, with lots of screw holes and side hole to take a Tommy bar to assist with their removal.

The second place is from Steve Mink who has a website from which you can order.

have read that others who have tried them thought the were well manufactured. Photos would suggest they are very comparable to the Don Pencil versions. There is likely minor differences in sizes available, relative to your spindle characteristics, so that is likely the greatest reason to choose one or the other. Since Lee Valley offers an extended policy with money back guarantee (including shipping), I'd be prone to suggest you can't go to wrong in trying them out.

I have some of Don's faceplates and his hollowing set. Good product line, excellent quality. Met Don at a woodworking show in Indiana. Very nice gentleman and very helpful if you have questions, etc. No affiliation, just very satisfied customer. Guy
