A couple of days ago I posted a note about the death of Rich Pagano, and mentioned his work in segmented turning. He has recently had some of his work placed in the prestigious Del Mano Gallery and has had his turnings featured in a number of books and magazines. It occurred to me that some of you may not be familiar with his work, at least by name, so if you're not familiar with him and his gorgeous turnings, please pay a visit to his site at:

I had not seen his work before, but I am truly impressed. His bio said he started turning in 1999. I wish my first 5 years had produced such an array of artistry. I would have used up more time than that just gluing together all his segmented pieces. His flatware boxes were also impressive. His "Jigs" page has given me some ideas to improve some of my jigs, and a design for a band saw log jig. Sorry to hear we have lost such a talent.

I am sorry to hear about this. He did such beautiful work. What was the cause of death?

Its clear he had quite the talent. His passing will certainly be a loss to the woodturning world.
