Hi Mac, I bought the Lee Valley pen vise. I looked at many others and the Lee Valley had the most bang for the buck. Like you, I found it had a tendency to bind slightly. I applied a little dry lubricant to the rods and screw and the binding problem was solved. The vise is of the usual Lee Valley high quality. Thanks again for the tip. Hank

I found that a lot of the binding problem that I was having went away when I re-centered the jaws.. I think the brass bushing spun at one time and the part of the vise screw where it changes from right to left hand threads wasn't in the middle.. As one jaw approached it and the other was a few threads away, the one close to the "transition" point would bind..
