Router Table Favorites

I need to build a general purpose router table. I already have a small, metal job but it is sort of a joke.

I am not Norm nor do I need anything as good as he would want but I do want to build a fairly nice one. Any suggestions/links, etc.?

Thanks

Cass

Hi Cass,

I have built the one out of ShopNotes Issue #1, they still resell the plan for a few dollars. I built the enclosed model and really like it, and have been using it for over 10-12 years.

Also, WoodHaven has some good plans and accessories for the router table. I purchased their booklet "Router Table Secrets" and incorporated a few of their ideas into my project.

The key to it is having a tight table opening for the router plate. This is really just a simple matter of using guide strips and the right router bit with a ball bearing.

Another key is to make the table thick enough that it has no vibration.

Check out ShopNotes and WoodHaven - good places, good service.

Best Regards, and keep those chips flying,

Joe
