Totaly OT: Codex

There's a lot of intelligent people joining this group. I'd like you all to take knowledge of the Codex issue. It's definitely not about woodturning, but might turn tings into a good direction. There's a video :

Please let me know (in this group) if I'm wrong about the importance of this issue.

I watched the Video - & bookmarked site. Orwell rides yet another horse we have reason to fear. Thanks for the wake up call. Turning is about fun; looks like CODEX is about life & death. All for [non taxable ] dollars < if you're a board member>

Well, I've read parts of the Codex Alimentarius, and I watched most of that video, and read a good bit of stuff on the website.

The Codex is an attempt to produce some international guidelines and definitions for food production. Like, for example, how much salt can go into Edam cheese. This does not strike me as Big Brother, to say the least. It's about as big a threat to All We Hold Dear as the Good Housekeeping Cookbook.

The website is mighty peculiar. And the speech on the video the OP listed is, well, pretty obviously a quite unhinged mind speaking at great length about her paranoid fantasies. In other words, this "doctor" is bugnuts crazy. I would highly recommend not taking her seriously, except as an (unfortunately excellent) example of a deranged person speaking in public (though whether or not she was actually talking TO anyone is an open question).
