April threads received

May I be the first to announce the receipt of April threads thanks to Holly who is clearly not the procrastinator I am. She sent 5 generous sized balls of yarns, 2 of which are hand-spun. They are a lovely variety of colors which I'm sure Nora would like because they are mostly variegated.

Hi Jan,

Wow, that was fast and I've marked my April threads list that you have received yours from Holly.

Hugs,

I'm glad Jan liked her color/yarn. I probably have more variegated than solids in my stash. Next time I'll try to include some handpainted yarns by Lisa Souza.

Hi Holly,

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has a stash of variegated yarn. I love making the afghans with it, plain colors are boring.

Hugs,

Nora

I love to do slip stitch patterns with variegated yarns. Here's a stitch pattern that I love to do in variegated yarns: with an odd number of stitches: Row 1: Knit across Row 2: Knit across Row 3: *k1, s1 wyif* repeat across ending with k1 Row 4: *k1, s1 wyib* repeat across ending with k1 If you change colors on row 3, you are always pulling the previous color up into the next color. I like to do this with four variegated yarns that have 1-2 colors in common. Makes a beautiful fabric.
