Sunday has arrived again

Hello everyone - I think there must be two Sundays in a week these days - as they come around so quickly. My first thought is for the Tennessee people in our group - have the tornadoes hurt anyone ? I do hope. They looked terrible on the TV. My Sunday has been lovely and quiet - watched the Masters Golf early this morning then the Davis Cup Tennis live from Melbourne by which time it was lunch time. During this Tv watching I did two squares - so they will be on their way to you Bart !! After lunch I have been on the computer all afternoon numbering and naming heaps of scanned photos. We have been having very cool weather for this time of year. I actually had to get out of my shorts yesterday - too cold. This is unheard of until at least the end of May - perhaps we will have a cold winter - I hope so I love the cool weather.

Off to make coffee and watch the football - Up the Broncos !!! This is Rugby League( as different from Rugby) so no one else will be interested I guess. Have a great day everyone God Bless Gwen

Yes happy Sunday everyone, don't often get in on a sunday link, but managed to today.

Weather this way is sunny one minute cloudy the next due to being somewhat windy, if the wind would drop it'd be lovely and warm.

Hope everyone is safe and well, happy birthday / anniversaries to anyone I've missed etc

Happy Sunday to you Gwen. I'm glad to see another sports addict in the group. My day here in CT will also include the Masters - and the Mets and Yankees baseball teams. Our weather has been very cold and wet this past week. Spring is a long time coming this year. Joan

Good morning, everyone!

It is a beautiful morning here in San Angelo, Texas, with mid-40's and lots of sunshine. We are expected to rise in temps today by another 40 degrees.

I watched the Masters round on Friday but missed yesterdays. Who are the front runners now?

Hi All,

My thoughts are also with the people of TN & other states affected by the recent storms. I understand how devestating a major disaster like this is. The effects are felt by the people involved long after the news coverage stops. My prayers will continue to be with the people who lost so much. We are lucky to have been south of the storm system that did so much damage in TN.

I am also blessed with a perfectly gorgeous day outside. It's blue & fresh spring green, sun shining and a cool breeze. I don't plan on getting too much knitting done today. It's work outside day for me.

Send some of the spring like weather here. I am sat here reading the posts and was alerted by a noise on the window. It is hail stoning and the pavement and grass are covered in less than

10 minutes. Even the roads are covering and there is 1 inch of them on my window sill. Yet it is still coming.

Oh to be in England now that April's here.

Oh to be somewhere else where it is warmer and the sun shining. My SAD is hanging around for a long time this year.

I knew DH should not have put the swing up on the backyard last week. He thought I would be able to sit in the sunshine soon. Shirley

My MIL called me at oh-dark-thirty to remind me about today's Easter Egg hunt at her church. Which is not actually starting until 1300. Thanks, meemaw, for waking me up at an ungodly hour.

I'm planning a sweater from commercial yarn, working on socks, and spinning froghair for my 3-ply yarn that'll be a cardigan in about a year or so.

Tomorrow I'm having a follow-up with my orthopedist. Cross your fingers that the symptoms I'm still having won't require another surgery - I'll go nuts if I'm unable to knit again for another couple of weeks!

Goodafternoon everyone,

First, prayers going down to you Wooly that you won't need any more surgery, you've been through enough.

Now, it's cool here in upstate NY 41 degrees, but no wind and the sun is shining. I've switched the fall/winter clothes to the spring/summer ones this morning, hoping it will bring on the warmer temperatures.

I had to go through my yarn stash and locate some light blue as I finished no. 18 last night and have started a nine square granny square now with the leftover blueberry pie and will put the light blue for the last round to give it some contrast.

DH is needing some help this afternoon sorting through some of his things so I'll be helping him then it will be time to watch TV and crochet more. If anyone would like a peek at the afghans I've done the address is after my name.

Hugs,

Nora

Goodmorning Cher and Gwen, You two can live through an other Sunday morning, this time on Vancouver Island. It is a bit foggy out side but with a promis of sunshine. I have a sapsucker trying to break through our outside walls. Let hope he will not reach the tyvak vapor barrier. We have chased this determined bird about for a couple of days now, but the silly beast wants to build a nest right there

We had to go into Victoria yesterday for some odds and ends. I ended up buying two packs of rasberries for the garden: Tulameen, I love them they give lots of berries. In a bit I am off to the garden and will also start putting some seeds in that like this cold soil weather. Than back for some coffee and the rest of the crossword puzzle. Mirjam I think I need to learn the hebrew alpahbeth. The puzzle asked for the 13th letter of the hebrew alphabeth. The theme this weekend is Song shower. asking for clasic songs from Elvis and other groups and singers. All have the word rain in it. Have a great weekend everyone: Ray you sit on a chair or rest yourself on the sofa, and enjoy the help from your husband. Hugs from the Westcoast

Hello, all. I've never gotten "in on" a Sunday link either (like you, Cher), but I just had to comment on Nora's beautiful work ... so I'll blab a moment 'fore that. LOL

Els, I'm still giggling about your fight with the Sapsucker. We have similar fights every year with various birds (seems to be a different breed each year that's the most persistent -- except the Phoebe's who are ALWAYS determined and annoying.) Hope the Sapsuckers don't make it through to your tyvak!!!

Shirley, you poor dear with hail accumulating even an inch on your windowsill. The snows are slow to leave us here too, but I think perhaps this week will be the final, REAL start of Spring for us. :o) Hopefully it won't be too long for you too and DH will get that swing hung up for you.

Wooly, I'll pray that you don't need more surgery. I personally dread the thought and hope you can be spared any more. You've surely had enough!!!!!

Nora, your work is SO beautiful; and I'm shocked at the amount of it! You must nearly work your fingers down to nubs!!!! The pineapple afghan is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!! I also especially like the baby's knit sweater and the Christmas tree skirt. Such LOVELY, lovely work! :o)

Happy day to all, no matter the weather! Smiles, Eve :o)

PS - If anyone is tryin' Nora's link, she switched two of the letters ... instead of tinyurl she mistakenly put tinyrul. Jes' fix that and you'll get to her pics fine! :o)

Hi Eve,

Thank you for the lovely compliments and for letting me know that I can't type worth beans. No, I don't work my fingers down to nubs, in fact the only time I crochet is when I'm watching sports on TV in the evening and when I'm sitting here in front of the computer. The V-stitch and the one piece ones usually take three or four evenings to complete, the pineapple took me a couple of weeks as I had to count more then the other two.

I've forgotten where you live that you still have snow. I still say we may get one good storm before saying that winter is over for this year.

Hugs,

Nora

Nora,

Your work is lovely! I especially liked the pineapple afghan and the crocheted baby sweater, but, I think my favorites are the "sampler" afghans, like the 6x6's and the Marrissas. I can't believe how much work you've done just since the start of the year.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first Sunday post too. I've had a nice, relaxing day. Dh is recovering from gall bladder surgery but is doing well and didn't need anything from me for a while, so I went to church, came home and made lunch, then knit on my jacket for a couple hours while watching an old Vincent Price/Borris Karloff movie. Then it was nap time, and now we're headed up to my in-laws for dinner. I'll probably get a few more rows done there.

Happy Sunday All, Joy

Thanks, Eve, that fix worked fine.

I just came in from a bit of yard work - nothing major. There is lots to do this time of year. The rhodies are starting to bloom and my daffodils and tulips are in full flower. I did a fairly major pruning of my camellia now that it is about done blooming. (I wants to be a tree and I keep trying to persuade it to stay as a bush. Actually I have some rhodies out by the road that have won that battle and are trees. I plan to work to get them downsized as soon as they have bloomed. I started that last season but it will take several years. They did get away from me.

It is not raining today - not really sunny but pleasant enough for enjoying spending a little time outside.

I am headed down to the TV to watch the rest of the Mariners game and work on a top I am knitting.

Hi Hesira,

Thank you for the compliments. The 6x6's and Marissa's were all made by the ladies in our group here. The 6x6's were from my exchange partners and the others were sent when I put out the call for a comfortafghan. I just put them together.

Hugs,

Nora

Hope everything goes will with your appointment tomorrow. Both of us are dealing with symptoms from our surgery and hoping we don't need more surgery. I go back to the surgeon in May after carpal tunnel tests on both wrists.

I understand about going nuts when we are unable to knit. I keep saying that if I'm really good he won't do any more surgery on either wrists.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

I didn't have a chance to get here earlier, and really should be in bed now, but I just wanted to pop in to say "hi" to all of you. Have a great week, everyone!

Hi Nora,

Perhaps the squares were made by the ladies in this group, but they thought of you when they chose the thread, and the pattern, and you chose how to arrange them, so I think they say alot about you, as well as community.

With a big smile,

Hesira
