LOL Aaron. I think women know how to brag too - we just usually tend to do it in a more subtle manner ;-D

Women can do a lot of things better than most men think they can. One of the things that I am most proud of is getting (rather junior) women promoted so I could give them my job. Generally, they did my job better than I had been doing it. If they had bragging properly about their skills and capabilities, then they would have already been promoted, and not available for me to promote. Then, I could not have bragged about the great replacement that I found to fill my old job, so that I could go off and do a new job.

Guys get promoted over women (and get more money), not because guys better work. Guys get promoted because they are better braggers. American corporate management and voters are particularly susceptible to the brag over the substance. We have qualified women, and they do not get promoted. We have qualified women, and they do not get elected. Instead, men like GW Bush get elected, twice!! That is the ultimate triumph of the brag over competence.

I will believe that women really know how to brag when one gets elected POTUS. (And, No, I would prefer that she not be named, "Clinton"!)

You must be a perfectionist, Bob. I can relate to that trait.

Needlepoint is a specific way of doing pictures with yarn. Instead of embroidering just the parts that make the picture on a plain background, with needlepoint you stitch on every intersection of a loosely-woven canvas and make the background as well as the design. It can be framed or used for many purposes, everything from upholstery to eyeglass cases to very firm waistcoats.

The basic stitch is very simple, like half of a cross-stitch, but you can make longer or shorter stitches (for that, look up bargello).
