LoL! Oh, I'm sorry, it's really NOT funny, just that I can relate :-)

I always think that it would be a good idea to keep a note sheet with a copy of the pattern, mark off where I am at, include any revisions patterns I worked in, and store it with the project.

Then in waves of MADNESS I conclude that 'oh no - I will remember...'

and I never do.

You will conqure it, or revise to suit ;-)

hehehe Busy busy lady, Mirjam! So many things on the go, and all at the same time very likely... no wonder you forgot how you made the braid, etc. But then, you will work it out... you always do! :o)

Thank you Sandra !! First Don`t be sorry , it is one of those things that happen.I have told others here years ago,,that in fact i always start a sweater at end of winter , and don`t finnish it as a sign of belief in life going on !!!! [ summers here are too hot to knit wools ,, but now with air conditions cottons and art that doesn`t want to wait....I do it from time to time]. Ok leaving one garment ,,, but 3 .....with the Other projects i always have around me ???? very unusual for me !!!! As to writing patterns up etc... Sandra i have a PILE of copybooks with all my knitted and all my woven and many sewn patterns calculations etc,,, and many remarks that will make you all roll ,,, [ i actually remark obn the Behaviours of te threads !!!] since i make up my own patternsi write down the Guagues ,, etc,,,, and i note down in/de creases ... by the old way ,,, IIII and a diagonal over it for the fifth row or round. a litle * for increase or decrease ,,,, Thus the problem was because i adapted a lace edge pattern to be knittedon both sides of my middle opening ,,, thus i knitted it on one side the `right way` ,,,[ the row with Loop over k 2 tog] on my starting the row of 1/2 front , back , 1/2 front, and the other time on endingf the long row , thus i knitted same patter once from left once from right and since it has Teeth ,,,, the decrease of 4 stiches could not happen at same row , thus i used a counter to know wgere i was ,,, and counter was lost ,, PS ,,,, counter was found ,,, than i saw that i worked some method to knit the 2 sides so that they look a bit similar ,,, and of all things I haven`t recorded that fact in my copybook ,,,,,,????????have no idea why ?????? But i thought you all might see that i did see it as funny ,,, i like enigmas , and it was a good excercise for the Gray cells :>:>:>:>

A copy ?? Sandra ??? I am writing it all down in copybooks !!!! only if i travel i copy it to another loose page to take with me .

In weaving i make a special page where i put a pin in the place i am ,, in knitting i just make the above mentioned marks ,,,,and if i know i will put it aside for long i add other remarks.... in this case i had no idea it will be put away more that several days !!!!

Welllll i mostly do remember .......

I just knitted a new swatch ,, til it worked out , to the great joy of a friend who came for a knitting lesson and swore she doesn`t see i made any mistake ,,, and that i demand too much of my knitting ,,,,, Aha ,,, but after watching me for a while hahahahha i got her hooked on wanting to knit her next vest In a seamless one piece knitting ,,, hahahahh..... mirjam

X-No-Archive:yes

I am glad to see/hear that others get 'creative' while doing their crafts. My usual procedure is to add "Post-It" notes to the pattern, or if I have made up the pattern to just write down number of stitches, length of article etc. For me, it's doing the knitting, crocheting etc., not studying patterns, yarns etc. I just want to make stuff!!!
