CLogs are done!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction for the pattern! It was quite simple and I have the felted clogs drying on my feet as we speak.

I used a denim colour White Buffalo unspun yarn and it felts very nicely. I only needed two short (hot) wash cycles, pulled them into shape and put them on to dry. I think I'll be making lots of these for gifts. ;>)

Shelagh, they're gorgeous! Now, did you adapt/change the pattern any? Reason I ask, is that yours look MUCH BETTER than the designer's!!!! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Noreen

I didn't change the pattern at all. I think what you're seeing in the designer's picture (and it confused me too) is maybe she put the unfelted ones under the felted slippers (for comparison), and it makes the soles look funny.

Thanks again to all three of you for pointing me to that design. I'm very happy with them ;>)

Guess who's eyeing up her stash to MAKE some? Thanks, Shelagh, I wondered about the soles, the way they looked in 'her' pix! Hugs, Noreen

Shelagh, they are great! Do you have any idea how much yarn they used? I have some spare skeins I've been picking up here and there but don't know if it's enough to make these (and the pattern doesn't seem to give any indication).

The clogs look wonderful.

You make me want to try felting but I think it will have to wait until I have a washer that I can control and not the one in our apartment building.

Darlene... use the apt. bldg. one anyway, but bring along a kettle of HOT (boiled!!!) water from 'home' to dump in! HTH, Noreen

The apartment building machines are front loading so it's impossible to open it once it's started. Even adding more water is impossible with the ones we have.

It was a good idea and if it was a top loading machine I would be felting.

Thanks for the idea anyway.

Darlene, my building's laundry set-up is the same as yours. To me, felting is just one of those things other people get to have fun with. But there are more than enough other projects to keep me busy.

I totallty understand that you figured that most machines at top loading. I was the one that was trying to figure out how to felt when I couldn't open the machine once it started.

Of course you got an "E"
