crocheted baby kimono pattern

I dropped BF off at the airport yesterday morning so he could fly to Carolina for his 3 weeks of paperwork before he starts his contract in Iraq. (he will be back before he goes again, he's just gone for 3 weeks right now).

I stopped by Borders on my way home (trip chaining--gotta save gas) and picked up the Mason-Dixon knitting book. I love it. I love the stories, the pictures, and the patterns. Much more lively than a "plain" pattern book could be.

Mom fell in love with the baby kimono. I told her she could make it since it's all stuff I KNOW she can do (she's done a few square and corner-to-corner discloths) but she insists she doesn't want to knit it, she wants it crocheted.

So, I'm here to ask if anyone has a pattern similar to what's in the book (newborn sized) for crochet. My plan right now is to knit the kimono and before sewing it up she can make a pattern off it for crochet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Amanda

If you can't find another, why not convert the knit pattern to crochet? My favourite book for this is 'From Needles to Hook' which tells you how to convert both row and stitch gauge, plus makes lots of suggestions of compatible stitches.

I also saw this on ebay; a vintage crochet pattern book that lists a baby kimono.
