seeking pattern ideas

i bought a skein of hand dye mohair (78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon), approx. 14 oz, or 858 yards (enough for a sweater i think). reccommended needle size:7.5 American. any suggestions? i think i'd prefer pullover to cardigan, but i'm openminded. the colorway is Snow on the Mountain, which is primarily foresty greens & shadowy blues/purples. lee

All of my sources say you'll need at least 900yd of BULKY (3-3.5spi) yarn for a sweater of 36" finished chest, a bit more if you make a cardi with a buttonband. The finer the yarn the more of it you need, yardage-wise, up to as much as 1800yd fingering-weight for that size sweater.

That said, you can make a vest up to 52" finished chest if that yarn you have will knit up as a bulky.

I don't think there's a 7.5 US needle size. There's 7.5 mm which is between 10.5 and 11 US.
